The following course has been tailored for “Lycée Français d’Irlande”

Les cours ci-dessous ont été tout spécialement conçus pour les étudiants du Lycée Français d’Irlande par Languages Unlimited Services. Cette année, ces cours seront de nouveau délivrés en présentiel dans les locaux du LFI. Quel que soit l’examen choisi (FCE ou CAE), le cours aura une durée de 28 semaines s’étalant de septembre 2023 à mai 2024. Les examens se tiendront à l’Exam Centre of Ireland (D07 NP8H) en mai ou juin 2024 suivant la disponibilité des candidats. Notez que l’inscription à l’examen est en sus.

CAMBRIDGE EXAMS PREPARATION COURSES

Ce cours est une préparation générale ouverte à tous les niveaux de la troisième à la terminale. Cette année, ce cours se tiendra de nouveau en présentiel dans les locaux du LFI.

Le cours, d’une durée de 28 semaines (1h30 par session), aura lieu le mardi soir à partir du 19 septembre 2023  de 17h30 à 19h00 au LFI (salles N14 et N15).

Groupes :

Les étudiants seront scindés en deux groupes :

  • Ceux préparant le FCE (First Certificate in English, niveau B2 du CECR).
  • Ceux préparant le CAE (Certificate in Advanced English, niveau C1 du CECR).

Durant la première leçon, le 20 septembre, les étudiants ayant préalablement choisi le FCE devront se rendre dans la classe de Maureen Johnston et ceux ayant une préférence pour le CAE, dans celle de Michael Bryan; les deux professeurs se chargeront d’évaluer le niveau oral des candidats et ainsi de confirmer ou pas qu’ils sont bien à leur place dans leur groupe. Dès la deuxième session, les étudiants intègreront leur groupe définitif (FCE ou CAE).

Un manuel de préparation à l’examen sera fourni à chaque étudiant (inclus dans le tarif ci-dessous).

– Nous proposons également un cours similaire en individuel pour les étudiants requérant un emploi du temps aménagé ou plus flexible.

    Examens : 

    Les examens se tiendront à l’Exam Centre of Ireland (Whitworth Building, Morning Star Avenue, D07 NP8H) en mai ou en juin 2023 au choix. Les dates des examens vous seront communiquées dès leur publication par le Centre afin que vous puissiez choisir la session convenant le mieux à votre enfant.

    Professeurs :

    Les deux professeurs seront ceux qui ont préparé les étudiants avec succès aux examens de 2016 à 2019.

    • Ms. Maureen Johnston se chargera du groupe FCE.
    • Maureen has a Bachelor of Arts in English and Economics and a Higher Diploma in Education and has taken the Royal Society of Arts Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. She has extensive experience of teaching English to teenagers and adults and has worked at International House London which is known worldwide for its excellence in language teaching and teacher training. She also taught at International House in Casablanca where she taught groups and individuals at all levels as well as preparing adult students for the British Chamber of Commerce examinations. She worked for the Centre for British Teachers at various locations in Morocco preparing teenagers for English at Baccalaureate level and in Frankfurt teaching intensive business English courses. She joined Languages Unlimited in early 2016 and prepared a group of teenage students at the LFI for the Cambridge First Certificate and IELTS exams, all of whom were successful. She is currently teaching business and conversational English at the French Embassy in Dublin.
    •  Mr. Michael Bryan s’occupera du groupe CAE.
    • Michael is a qualified professional trainer and holds the International Certificate in TEFL. He worked as a volunteer, teaching English in Spain in 2004 and 2005 and began teaching in Ireland in 2006. He joined Languages Unlimited as an English Language trainer in 2008 and has been teaching and training foreign students and business people since then. Michael has considerable experience in preparing students for the Cambridge Exams and has taught children and adults in one-to-one situations, in small groups and in the classroom. He has worked with students and trainees in a number of organisations including The European Commission (Food and Veterinary Office), eBay, Oracle, AXA, Lycée Francais d’Irlande, Bulgari, Dexia Bank, Fideuram Asset Management, Allianz, Eurolink Motorway Operations, and Stream Global Services (X Box). Michael enjoys teaching and believes that people, especially children, learn when they enjoy the subject and are well motivated. He has a broad experience of teaching and training outside of the classroom too as he is a qualified UEFA coach. He has coached and managed several football teams over the years including Kill o’ the Grange School where he spent 7 years. This has provided invaluable experience in dealing with children and in motivating them to succeed. Michael is also a qualified FAI referee.
