Romanian for Complete Beginners – Course Goals
These goals give a snapshot of what you can expect to achieve by the end of this course.

Everyday Social Skills
You’ll be able to make basic social contact, using simple and polite expressions such as greetings, farewells, introductions, and phrases like please, thank you, and sorry.

Listening
You’ll be able to follow very slow and carefully spoken Romanian, with pauses to help you understand and absorb what is being said.

Reading
You’ll be able to understand very short and simple texts, focusing on one phrase at a time. You’ll be able to pick out familiar names, words, and basic phrases, and reread as needed to understand the meaning.

Speaking & Interaction
You’ll be able to take part in very simple conversations, relying on repetition, slower speech, rephrasing, and support to communicate effectively.

Speaking & Presenting
You’ll be able to produce simple, mostly isolated phrases about people and places.

Writing & Interaction
You’ll be able to ask for or give personal details in writing.

Writing & Production
You’ll be able to write simple phrases and sentences about yourself or imaginary people, including where they live and what they do.

Giorgiana Maria has been an English and Romanian teacher since 2000. While still a student, she taught English to preschool levels and one-to-one corporate tutoring. She has a Bachelor Degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and Teaching Romanian and Universal Literature and Grammar (from The Technical University of Cluj Napoca). She has a Master’s Degree in Educational Management (from the University of Arad) and another Degree in Web Design and Project Management (from Ibat College, Dublin). Giorgiana is also a Romanian-English accredited and authorised interpreter, registered with the Ministry of Justice in Romania and Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade in Ireland, as well as an Acelts recognised English and Romanian teacher. She joined Languages Unlimited in April 2016.
