This is a summary of the objectives for this Polish course for complete beginners.

Sociolinguistic Appropriateness
To be able to establish basic social contact by using the simplest everyday polite forms of greetings, farewells, introductions, saying please, thank you, sorry etc.

Listening Comprehension (LC)
To be able to follow speech that is very slow and carefully articulated, with long pauses for him/her to assimilate meaning.

Reading Comprehension (RC)
To be able to understand very short, simple texts a single phrase at a time, picking up familiar names, words and basic phrases and rereading as required.

Spoken Interaction (SI)
To be able to interact in a simple way but communication is totally dependent on repetition at a slower rate of speech, rephrasing and repair.

Spoken Production (SP)
To be able to produce simple mainly isolated phrases about people and places.

Written Interaction (WI)
To be able to ask for or pass on personal details in written form.

Written Production (WP)
To be able to write simple phrases and sentences about themselves and imaginary people, where they live and what they do.

Laura is a Polish teacher registered with the Teaching Council, with 7 years of experience in teaching. She started her educational adventure at the Polish School SEN in Dublin. She worked with Polish children in primary school and prepared students for the Leaving Certificate. Laura completed her studies in Poland (Polish Philology) and post-graduation course in Teaching Polish Language to Foreigners (University of Silesia, placed in UCD, Dublin).

Since 2017, she has been conducting courses for Irish and international groups and has work experience at Trinity College, Dublin. From 2017 to 2020, Laura coordinated the Courses of Polish for Adults in the Polish Teachers Association.

Since 2018, she works for Languages Unlimited where she runs one-to-one private Polish lessons and also works as a Polish language tester for recruitment.

Laura is always looking for new ways of developing her knowledge and professional experience. She is confident in teaching students of all ages and at all levels. She likes to create new and exciting ways of teaching and her lessons awake the fascination and passion in her students.
