Level A2 German Course – Course Goals

By the end of this course, participants will be able to use the language in routine, everyday situations. Here’s what they can expect to achieve:

Everyday Social Skills

  • Handle very short social exchanges using polite forms of greeting, invitations, apologies, and other basic social interactions.

Listening

  • Understand phrases and expressions related to immediate priorities, such as personal and family information, shopping, local geography, and employment, when spoken clearly and slowly.

Reading

  • Comprehend short, simple texts using high-frequency vocabulary, including some international words.

Speaking & Interaction

  • Communicate in simple, routine tasks that require direct exchange of information about work, free time, and familiar topics.

Speaking & Presenting

  • Give simple descriptions or presentations about people, daily routines, likes and dislikes, living and working conditions, family, education, or current/most recent job.

  • Deliver short, rehearsed presentations on familiar subjects and answer straightforward follow-up questions with repetition or assistance if needed.

Writing & Interaction

  • Write short, simple notes and messages related to immediate needs, using formulaic language.

Writing & Production

  • Write a series of simple phrases and sentences linked with basic connectors like and, but, and because.

After working for a number of years for international companies like Coca-Cola, IBM and BMC Software, Judith started teaching German in 2009 and joined Languages Unlimited in June of that year. She has worked with students in a number of organisations including The European Commission, Eurofound, eBay, Oracle, Google, Canada Life, Lidl… She also worked in other organisations such as Berlitz, the People’s College and Global IT; Judith is also teaching on-line classes. She enjoys teaching and is learning a foreign language herself, thus experiencing herself the challenges students are facing and getting to know all the different teaching styles and learning techniques and tools that you will discover in her tuition.
